Physiotherapy

Parijma has one of the largest and most comprehensive exclusive pediatric neuro-rehabilitation physiotherapy departments in the private sector.

With over 30 years of experience in this field, we have all the standard physiotherapy equipment along with newer state of the art and our custom designed therapy equipment to bring about better and faster recovery in children with developmental delay.

Tendon release and myofascial stretch (TRAMS) therapy

A novel and unique technique designed by the Neurologist and Neurorehabilitation team of the medical centre and highly useful for relieving the spasticity in children with spastic CP. Patients are selected after a thorough evaluation, & involved muscles are identified.

The tight muscles are stretched and the weak ones are stimulated and strengthened. This massage helps in relieving the pain due to spasticity, promotes better mobility and also improve mental alertness.

Botox Therapy

This therapy is used for the treatment of spasticity, best suited for focal spasticity (spasticity at a particular part of the body) and dynamic spasticity (spasticity which is not permanent).

If spasticity persists inspite of regular physiotherapy and MMSP, above therapy can be advocated.  However the child has to be evaluated by the pediatric neurologist, who can be the best judge to suggest the muscle to be injected and the correct dose of Botox.

Speech Therapy

Communication is the sole source to unite two individuals, to enhance evolution, to help us understand and reason, make us different from apes and animals and finally it’s what makes us human.

It’s the most expressive side of an individual without which the human race couldn’t have existed. At Parijma we have a team of well-trained Speech Pathologists facilitating individuals with communication related disorders. People of all age groups with speech, language and cognitive disorders are provided treatment here.

Infant Stimulation Programme ( Early intervention )

Infant stimulation is a very unique developmental therapy which deals with early identification & management of children with existing neurological disorders or potential neurological complications.

This has been developed by Parijma as early as 30 years ago when there was no concept of early intervention in the country & we have continued to innovate & improve upon this concept constantly. This is evident in the improvements seen in our children with neuro-developmental disorders.

Occupational Therapy

Parijma has the largest and most extensive occupational therapy departments exclusively for pediatric neuro-rehabilitation in the private sector.

With over 10,000 square feet specifically for Occupational therapy, we have a range of innovative, cutting edge and custom designed equipment along with dedicated therapists to bring about better & faster improvement in children suffering from developmental delay, autism and ADHD among other conditions.

Remedial / Behaviour Therapy

This is mainly for children with learning disorders & academic difficulties. This is also for children with global developmental delay or autism have graduated from infant stimulation &/or physiotherapy and later occupational therapy.

We find that most of these children are ambulant and have a fair degree of comprehension and fine motor skills but are very poor in hand grip, writing skills & have poor sitting tolerance & may have few behavioural issues. This is where remedial /behavior therapy comes in.

Group Therapy

This may be done as a separate therapy for children with poor social skills but is usually done as a part of remedial therapy and infant stimulation.

This is mainly to improve the social skills and bonding between children with neuro-developmental disorders.

This is done under the direct supervision of child psychologists specializing in this field.

IMPRESSC Therapy

Parijma is the only center which does this and we are rightly proud of this therapy as within the first 6 months of starting this form of therapy, we could mainstream 12 children back into regular schooling.

IMPRESSC is a custom designed therapy by our pediatric neurologists and therapists based on our 30 years of experience in pediatric neurorehabilitation. This is mainly to improve the cognition, social skills and impulsivity of children with neuro-developmental disorders.

Visual Stimulation

This is another under-recognised concept in most parts of the world.

This is the visual stimulation of children with cortical visual impairment (CVI) with the use of gentle & stimulating slow moving, contrasting and contrast enhanced light and other equipments like optical fibers, specially designed computer simulation and use of 3D hologram projectors (first in India, in the private sector).

Though this concept is now slowly catching up, we at Parijma have been doing this for the last 10 – 12 years, & are constantly coming up with newer ideas & tools.

Akhil Virtual Reality Therapy

Introducing the first of its kind in India, “Akhil Virtual Reality Room”.

This innovative treatment is a growth oriented, complete, novel, effective and safe treatment for situation specific anxiety and fears/phobias along with giving real-life experience for children aged 3-18 years old with ASD and average ability.
